Financial Qualifications

What does it cost to open a Spherion franchise?

The cost to open a Spherion franchise varies depending on skill vertical and market selection. However, minimum liquid cash requirements are $214,325 for General Staffing and $340,795 for Professional Staffing licenses. These funds must be available via verified banking or investment statements prior to attending Spherion's Discovery Day capstone event.

If needed, your Spherion franchise development representative can discuss lending and financing options with you. Please refer to our Franchise Disclosure Document for additional details about our investment requirements.

STEP 1: Initial exploratory discussion

Once you've submitted a request to learn more about owning a Spherion Staffing & Recruiting franchise, our Vice President of Franchise Sales & Development, Dan Brunell, will reach out. He'll be your point-of-contact to guide you through the franchise ownership process. We'll give you an overview of our franchise business opportunity as well as the process for becoming a Spherion franchisee.

STEP 2: Spherion Overview

We'll hold a call to discuss Spherion franchise ownership. Our conversation will include the following topics: the performance of the staffing industry; Spherion operations; how you can be successful; and the next steps in the process. Then, if you're ready to keep moving forward, you'll complete our franchise application.

STEP 3: Franchise Operations Review Call

Let's take a closer look at the Spherion franchise operating model and how you will go to market. We'll cover topics such as:

  • How to structure your business
  • Our recommended market approach
  • How to expertly use our front office technology
  • How to manage safety regulations and ensure employee well-being
  • How you can bring it all together.

STEP 4: Review Our Franchise Disclosure Document

Upon receipt of your franchise application, we will send you a current copy of our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD). This is a legal document provided by Spherion to potential franchisees as part of the franchising process. It contains detailed information about Spherion, the franchisor and our offered franchise opportunity. The purpose of the FDD is to provide you, the potential franchisee, with essential information necessary to make an informed decision about investing in a Spherion Staffing franchise.

Our FDD includes information such as our background and history, the terms and conditions of our franchise agreement, the initial investment required, ongoing fees and expenses, the obligations of both the franchisor and the franchisee, territory restrictions, intellectual property rights, financial statements, and other relevant information.

Franchise disclosure documents are regulated by law in the United States, where they are governed by the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Franchise Rule. The FDD is an important document that you should carefully review and consider, usually with the assistance of legal and business professionals, before making a decision to invest in a Spherion franchise.

After your confirmed receipt of the FDD and time to review it on your own we'll plan a session to go over Spherion's FDD together and answer your questions about Spherion franchise ownership.

STEP 5: Support & Portfolio Manager Introduction Call

Now, we'll talk further about how Spherion will support your market. You have big, audacious business goals, and we have the tools and training to help you reach those as a Spherion franchise owner! We provide extensive training (380 hours via video and in-person) on business ops, sales, marketing and tech before opening. You'll receive an additional 168 hours of on-the-job/classroom training after opening. You can trust Spherion for unmatched franchisee support!

Plus we'll introduce you to our sales leadership team and your future portfolio manager. This person is your personal guide to Spherion franchise operations, marketing, sales, and training during the lead-up to opening your office and your initial operations.

We'll dive deeper into the launch, marketing, legal, business services, business continuity planning, franchise commissions, awards and events, and Randstad Holding, our global partner.

STEP 6: Discovery Day Dinner & Capstone Learning Session

Discovery Day is designed to give you an up-close look at our business and hear from key leaders in our organization. You’ll travel to our headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, where you’ll have the opportunity to get to know us and we can get to know you. In some cases, virtual Discovery Days are possible.

We'll have lots of detailed discussions about building your staffing and recruiting business, diving into resources we have already been discussing —from marketing tools to business operations to the steps we'll guide you through when opening your franchise business. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to present to our executive team about your background, experience, business plans, and goals regarding franchise ownership. We love Discovery Day because it's a great opportunity to get to know the whole you and how you'd fit into our franchise community.

STEP 7: Franchise Offer & Contract Signing

Your business ownership journey is about to get exciting! If everything checks out and all parties agree that your background, skills, and motivation are a great fit, this is when Spherion will offer you a franchise ownership agreement.

With your acceptance, you'll sign the agreement and pay your franchise fee. This is where it gets real—you’re officially a Spherion franchisee!

STEP 8: New Franchise Launch Prep

Welcome to franchise ownership! Once you've signed, our franchise opening team takes over to help you select a location, set up your office, hire staff, and learn how to operate using our platforms. You'll participate in weekly online training as well as in-person training at our Atlanta headquarters as part of our recently developed New Franchisee Launch program. The average new Spherion franchisee is able to open their office three to four months after signing their contract.

STEP 9: Opening Day!

You've made it! Your doors are open for business and you're ready to start matching job seekers and employers in your community. You've learned how to master Spherion operations, sales, marketing and leadership within your office. No franchisee goes to market until you feel 100% confident that you can be successful. Our team will continue to work hard to help you become the staffing partner of choice in your area.

We're so happy to have you as a franchisee and we can't wait to help you succeed!

Become a Spherion Business Owner.

When you're ready to start your franchising journey with Spherion, text, call, or email Dan to ask how you can become part of our franchise community.
